Alfa Chemicals Ltd, a privately owned company established in 1976,
represents a number of manufacturers from around the world in the
industrial, pharmaceutical and personal care market sectors. Gattefossé UK
was formed in 2001 as a joint venture company between Alfa Chemicals in UK
and Gattefossé Holdings in France. Before the creation of this joint
venture company, Alfa Chemicals represented Gattefossé's product range.

A new alternative to thickeners for oils and emulsions is
offered by Arizona Chemical's Sylvaclear® range. Their gellants act across
a large range of solvent polarity from mineral oil to Propylene Glycol and
can incorporate inorganics, fragrances, pigments and actives. They can
also incorporate up to 50% water as well as difficult compounds, like
acids, bases, bleach and oxidizing agents which often destabilize
conventional emulsifiers and thickeners. Sylvaclears® can be used in a
wide range of applications from lipsticks to mascaras, to creams and milky
lotions, from baby oils to body gels and can produce crystal clear
products with excellent stability, thixotropic characteristics, added
gloss and soft silicone feel.
Capsugel® offers a range of finished encapsulated
single-dose beauty products. These capsules are available in a range of
colours and shapes, practical and stylish and in keeping with today's

From DuPont Speciality Chemicals we offer
the Zonyl range of fluorinated surfactants, very effective at extremely
low concentrations and with superior stability. They can be used in both
solvent and water based systems over a broad range of cosmetic
applications.
Gaiamare specialises in saline muds extracted from the
Eocene Sea at a depth of 700m, near the Spanish coast of Catalonia, for
both therapeutic and aesthetic purposes such as purifying and regenerating
the skin, stimulating the lymphatic system and enriching the skin with
minerals and trace elements. The muds vary in salinity, mineral
composition and have been enriched with essential oils to improve their
beneficial performance on the skin.
Fossil Mud Anti-cellulite
contains a seaweed extract, Fucus vesiculosus, known to effectively fight
cellulite thanks to the slimming properties of its iodized and brominated
compounds. This mud can be used for reshaping and relaxing body treatments
as well as to reduce inflammation on sore muscles.
Fossil Mud Essential
possesses all the softening, relaxing and remineralising properties of the
pure mud without the addition of essential oils. It re-equilibrates the
skin tissues by re-hydrating them, providing essential minerals and
boosting the activity of the lymphatic system. As a result treatments will
drain toxins from the skin, inducing a calming effect on tired muscles.

Fossil Mud Exfoliating
enriched with Kaolin and Apricot Kernel powder which gently exfoliates the
skin. A complete rejuvenating product, ideal for anti-cellulite and anti
stretch-mark treatments as well.
Fossil Mud Moisturizing
with added Kaolin and Olive, deeply moisturizes and revitalizes the

Fossil Mud Regenerative is

The Jeffsol® range of alkalene carbonates finds use as
solvents in cosmetic formulations. They are low in odour and kind to the
skin and environment, have high flashing points. Huntsman has tested the
Jeffsols® on permeability on living human skin, and compared to many other
commercial solvents, the Jeffsols® have proved to be the least
trans-dermal. These carbonates can be used in cleansers (hand, face,

Synergistic complex of Neem, Boswellia seratta and Sesame oil. This
anti-inflammatory, soothing and moisturizing active assists in
restructuring the skin's hydrolipidic protective film thanks to its
essential fatty acids content. This liposoluble complex is ideal for
sensitive or over-reactive skin types but also for dehydrated and dry skin
treatment.
Mitsubishi offers a range of natural emulsifiers derived
from sugar cane and vegetable fatty acids. The Surfhope SE Sucrose Esters range are odourless,
mild emulsifiers for w/o and o/w formulations producing exceptionally heat
stable emulsions by forming liquid crystals. Surfhope SE sucrose
emulsifiers can produce a wide range of textures from milky lotions to
rich creams, they can also produce clear soft gels. An extensive range of
sucrose esters is available from low to high HLB values.
New Phase Technologies™ offers a range of functional
polymers which not only thicken and help to stabilize your cosmetic
formulation, but also impart superior performance characteristics.
Performalene™ INCI:
Polyethylene
This range comprises 7 grades each with a precise
molecular weight and sharp high melting point for perfect reproducibility.
They are particularly useful for thickening oil phases and forming films.
They have been used extensively in lipsticks, mascaras, make-up sticks,
deodorant and anti-perspirant sticks and sunscreens. The micronised
crystalline grades as used as scrub particles in toiletries.
Performa V™INCI: Synthetic
Wax
4 grades available. They are excellent film formers, adding gloss
to lipsticks/make-up, condition, moisturize and waterproof
emulsions.
Performa™ 1480 INCI:
C20-40 Alcohols (and) Cocomidopropyl Betaine
A water-based conditioning
ingredient designed to be easily incorporated into surfactant based
formulas made in cold process systems. This ingredient provides multiple
benefits such as pearl, opacity, thickening, improved foam quality, hair
and skin conditioning.
Performa™ 1484 INCI:
C30-38 Olefin/Isopropyl Maleate/MA Copolymer (and) TEA
A water
dispersible skin conditioning agent which significantly increases
absorption rate of creams and lotions resulting in a light diffusing, matt
finish. Also increases viscosity of formulation.
Performacol™INCI: C20-40
Alcohols
Fully saturated, linear alcohols with high molecular weight.
Used in colour cosmetics as pigment wetters enabling pigments to be
delivered richly, smoothly and evenly. They are used in skin and hair care
as thickeners with excellent conditioning properties.
Performathox™INCI: C30-38
Olefin/Isopropyl Maleate/MA Copolymer
4 grades available with different
melting points. Performathox™ are also good pigment wetters, improve
lubricity and film-forming, can be used as auxiliary emulsifiers and
contribute to high temperature stability. Very useful in colour cosmetics
and deodorant sticks.
